The Beach Channel Dolphins clinched the PSAL Queens III Division with a two set victory over Campus Magnet. Finishing the season at 11-1, the Dolphins will await their first round playoff matchup. The Dolphins won their last 7 games to beat out second place Hillcrest. "I know there will be strong (in the playoffs) teams like Cardozo, Newcomers and Forest Hills, so we will have to prepare", said head coach Mark Sanchez. He is very optimistic about his team’s playoff chances. "We’re representing Beach Channel and we will be ready to go."

Girls Soccer

Far Rockaway crushed Robert F. Wagner Jr. 7-1 in a PSAL B division game. Far Rockaway evens their record to 5-5-2 and Wagner falls to 0-10. Shellio Clarke scored 3 goals and 2 assists on the day and Alejand Sanchez scored 2 goals for the Seahorses. Beach Channel is 1-6-2 on the season.

Boys Baseball

Beach Channel continued their winning ways with a victory over Far Rockaway (3-5), 10-0 at Beach Channel. At press time, the Dolphins (7-3) have a 4 game winning streak, as they will have played their second game of the week against Far Rockaway. Sophomore Rubi Ramos had 14 strikeouts in 5 innings and Lemonte Attles had 3 hits for the Dolphins.

Far Rock Track

Far Rockaway finished 11th of 29 overall in the 6th annual Howard Richter Invitational at Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx on Sunday, May 4. Jeavon Benjamin finished second in the 400 Meter dash with a time of 55.48. Michell Beckford finished third in the pole vault. Jeavon Ben jamin finished 7th in the 200 Meter final dash with a time of 25.38. Aliesha Henry finished in 7th place in the 100th Meter Hurles Preliminary with a time of 18.87. Shellean Fyffe finished 5th in the 400 meter Dash.

Girls Tennis

Tiffani Parchment, Tara Passik, Monika Nizio won singles matches as Beach Channel defeated Springfield Gardens in the last regular season game, 4-1. Beach Channel finished 8-4 in the PSAL Queens II standings, third behind Campus Magnet and Jamaica. Far Rockaway finished fourth in with a 7-4 record. It was an improvement from last season when they went 5-7.
