At Ocean Village

A local man was shot dead on Friday, May 2 in front of 57-15 Shore Front Parkway, in the Ocean Village complex.
According to Police sources, Randolph Jackson, 39, who lived in that building, was shot once in the chest by an unknown assailant who fled the scene.
Jackson was removed to Peninsula Hospital Center by Emergency Medical Service personnel and was declared dead at the hospital shortly after his arrival.
Police sources told The Wave that they had not yet identified the type of gun used to kill Jackson, although there was some conjecture that the gun was some type of pellet gun and that the pellet penetrated Jackson's chest and vital organs, causing his death. Detectives from the 100 Squad would not speak about the type of weapon used in the homicide.
Police officials also refused to conjecture on whether Jackson's murder was connected to the ongoing dispute between residents of Ocean Village and residents of Ocean Bay Houses, a dispute that has caused many problems in past months.
"The investigation is ongoing at this time," a source at the office of the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Public Information said. "Jackson was shot by persons unknown for reasons unknown."
