St. Edmund’s Holds NHS Induction Ceremony
St. Edmund Prep High School, Sheepshead Bay, recently held its National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. The ceremony began with a prayer service conducted by campus minister S. Barbara Doyle, CSJ. The candle lighting ceremony represented the four qualities that each member must possess, namely scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Last year’s valedictorian James Grillo performed the Installation of Officers. Along with pianist John Fabrizio, the St. Edmund Chamber Ensemble, conducted by John Malazzo, performed for the audience. NHS officers are President Amanda Pizzuti, Vice President Andrew Cardaci, Representative Christine DeMauro and Secretary John Thomas Dugan. St. Edmund’s Principal Mr. Lorenzetti praised the NHS members for their accomplishments and presented them with a certificate. On the faculty advisory committee were Mr. Amatrucola, Mrs. Borrello, Mrs. DeMello, Ms. Kowkabany, Mr. Malafronte, Ms. McGoldrick, Ms. McGowan, Mrs. Mineo, Mrs. Moquin, Ms. Piro, Mrs. Vulpis, and Mr. Wright.
