Nursing Home Names Administrator
John Okwodu has been named Administrator of Bishop Charles Waldo MacLean Episcopal Nursing Home. Okwodu is responsible for the 163-bed skilled nursing facility, which provides quality medical, social, rehabilitative services for the elderly.
The nursing home is linked to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital South Shore by an enclosed walkway and is backed by the hospital’s comprehensive range of medical and emergency services.
Okwodu formerly served as the Administrator of Kingsbridge Heights Health Care Center in the Bronx and Brunswick Hospital Center Nursing Home in Amityville, Long Island. He is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators and a former board member of the Health Care Executives Club. He received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and his master’s in healthcare administration from Hofstra University.
Bishop MacLean Nursing Home offers a full range of medical, nursing, therapeutic and rehabilitative services. Residents enjoy a calendar rich with day and evening social activities as well as therapeutic programs geared for the more cognitively impaired. Also offered is New Beginnings, a special therapeutic program for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
