Deadline Nearing On Chamber Resource Guide
The Chamber of Commerce of the Rockaways is inviting members of the Rockaway community to participate in the creation of the Premiere Edition of its "Rockaway Resource Guide," and time is getting short for the inclusion of entries and advertisements. The deadline for all submissions is May 19.
According to the organization’s executive Director, Liz sulik, "One and all are invited to be part of the guide by submitting photos, stories, and information about life on Rockaway Beach."
Sulik asks, "Are you a civic or community-based organization with important dates coming up? Does your group have weekly, or monthly meetings, or some summer-fun things on your upcoming agenda? Let us know and the Chamber will include your information in this resource magazine. The guide cannot be a real success unless it contains all of the up-to-date info available from local organizations. So, please feel free to submit club, business, church, or sporting news, including meeting dates, etc. Don’t forget any special events planned for the summer season."
The Guide will be a glossy-covered, "Who, What, When, Where, and Why" publication boasting the best of the beach. It is intended to be totally dedicated to the residents of Rockaway, and to the business community who live and work on our peninsula.
"Time’s-a-wasting" - and any business, or organization that wishes to advertise in the resource guide is encouraged to reserve ad space just as soon as possible. Full, half, quarter, and business card size ads, including coupons are available. There are also a very limited number of glossy, black and white, as well as color pages still open at this time," Sulik says.
Sulik says that the guide will provide all sorts of information about Rockaway, its resources, businesses, professionals, restaurants, civic associations, elected officials, various agencies, educational resources, places of worship, annual activities, transportation, arts, culture, and a brief community history.
A special section, completely devoted to 2003 Summer-Fun activities will be included. Approximately 15,000 guides will be distributed throughout the Rockaway peninsula, and its neighboring communities of Queens, Brooklyn, and Nassau counties.
To reserve advertising space, check ad rates, or to drop-off, or mail photos or copy for the Rockaway Resource Guide; or should you have any questions regarding the guide, please: Call the Chamber office at (718) 634-1300; FAX your information to 718-634-9623; or you may e-mail info to firstname.lastname@example.org.
