Women’s History Month Celebration
Assemblywoman Audrey I. Pheffer served as a guest speaker for the Federal Women’s Program of the Social Security Administration at a celebration of "Women’s History Month." As former President of the National Order of Women Legislators, Pheffer shared an overview of the progress of women in the United States and expressed her enthusiasm for the future of New York City’s women. Pheffer put herself through Queens College while a single mother, and has since risen through the ranks of city and state government. She has served as a member of the State Assembly since 1987 and currently chairs the Assembly’s Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection.
