UHF Honors PHC Auxiliary


The United Hospital Fund recently presented awards to Sheila Schwartz, Co-President of the Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary and Joyce Silverman, President of the PHC Volunteer Guild for their contributions to the community through their voluntary work with the hospital center. The awards, presented at the Waldorf Astoria, featured Dr. Ronan Tynan of the Irish Tenors. Sheila Schwartz, a resident of Neponsit and Co-President for the PHC Auxiliary, has been an active member of the auxiliary for many years. She has spearheaded many fundraising events to benefit the Hospital Center. Joyce Silverman, President of the PHC Volunteer Guild has been volunteering for 12 years. Her dedication is towards the Hospital Center’s Gift Shop. She is responsible for all of the pricing, buying, and displaying of merchandise. Peninsula Hospital Center was one of several hospitals whose auxilians and volunteers were honored at this event.
