PHC Names Director Of Emergency Medicine
Robert V. Levine, President and Chief Executive Officer at Peninsula Hospital Center (PHC) announced the appointment of Fitzgerald Alcindor, M.D. as the new Director of the Emergency Medicine Department. He will oversee all medical, nursing and business staff activities of this clinical area. "I welcome Dr. Alcindor to our newly modernized Department of Emergency Medicine Services," states Mr. Levine. "He is a valuable addition to our health care team and our community."
Dr. Alcindor received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University and his Medical Degree from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He completed his internship at Booth Memorial Hospital and residencies in General Surgery at Cabrini Medical Center and in Emergency Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Alcindor was most recently the Assistant Director of the Emergency Department at North Shore University Hospital at Forest Hills. Previously, he served as an Attending Physician in various hospitals in our region and served on a per-diem basis at Peninsula Hospital Center in 1996.
Among his many licensures and certifications, Dr. Alcindor is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is also a certified provider of Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support. Dr. Alcindor holds membership in numerous professional societies and has extensive teaching experience.
Dr. Alcindor is a resident of Baldwin Harbor, NY.
