Senator Smith: Attend Public Hearing
State Senator Malcolm A. Smith has announced that he is co-sponsoring, along with Queens Neighborhood Ad-visory Board #12 (NAB), a public hearing for constituents to present their concerns, ideas, and suggestions on community programming and funding to the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development.
The public hearing, to be held on Saturday, April 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at York College, will serve as a forum on identifying areas of need in the community for program funding and services through New York City’s Block Grant Program. The hearing will take place in Room 2M05 at the College. Neighborhood Advisory Board #12 represents a number of Queens Communities, including Rockaway.
"This public hearing is an ideal opportunity for residents of the Queens neighborhoods that comprise Advisory Board #12 to come forward and voice their concerns about the needs of the community," Senator Smith said. "Funding for after-school programs, senior citizen needs, and other community programs will be greatly determined by feedback from the people who live in these neighborhoods, and I strongly encourage my constituents to attend this public hearing on April 26 at York College."
