Little Globe Theater Offers Workshop
The Little Globe Theater in Rockaway is offering an acting workshop to residents. The workshops will run from May 1 to July 3.
According to theater officials, the instruction will be tailored to the participant’s personality so as to "supply an abundance of acting resources."
"Whether you are interested in learning fundamental acting techniques or want to perfect a specific monologue for professional auditions, this workshop will accommodate your needs. This is an acting workshop designed to supply the participant with basic skills applicable to numerous styles of acting," the official says.
The workshop focuses on the participant’s "center," that is, it will provide the means to judge what roles are best suited to play. Equally important, it will show how to expand the participant’s "center" so that they may be able to play a greater variety of roles.
Mario Martone, Director of The Little Globe Theater, will lead the workshop. Mario’s extensive credits include numerous acting workshops and a rich variety of plays, musicals, and revues, which he has directed through a period of forty years.
The workshop will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the First Congregational Church at 320 Beach 94 Street in Rockaway Beach. The fixed fee of fifty dollars enables a participant to attend the workshop on any Tuesday and/or Thursday through the duration of the workshop.
