NY Sharks Football Season Gets Underway April 12

The New York Sharks will start off their third campaign by opening the 2003 season by hosting the Montreal Blitz at August Martin High School on April 12th at 3pm. The New York Sharks won the 2002 Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL) Championship by beating Austin Outlaws
24-4.

The Sharks finished 9-0 in the 2002 season. The Blitz are in their second season and were defeated twice last year by the Sharks and finished third in the Eastern Conference. Offensive lineswoman Maggie Mayo owns the Blitz.

Cheer New York will provide the pre-game entertainment on the April 12th game against the Montreal Blitz. Cheer New York is a volunteer cheerleading and dance squad. Cheer New York provides an opportunity for LGBTS cheerleaders, dancers and gymnasts to share their talent, training, and experience with each other and the community. Directions to August Martin High School: BY CAR: Take Belt Parkway West to 150th St./Rockaway Blvd. exit. Get in the right lane and make a right at the light onto Rockaway Blvd. Go approximately three lights and make a right at the light onto Baisley Blvd. Approaching School on right side, make a right at the light. Field is on the left-hand side.

By Subway: E or J train to Sutphin Blvd/Archer Ave. Transfer to Q6 bus and get off at Baisley Blvd. Walk two blocks to 156th St.

By LIRR: Take the LIRR to Jamaica. Transfer to Q6 bus and get off at Baisley Blvd. Walk two blocks to 156th St.
