Olga Bilyk, a half-century Rockaway resident, passed away on April 5.
Bilyk was born in Kitin, Belarus, and lived in Rockaway for fifty years. She was a homemaker, and belonged to the St. Michael Ukranian Church.

Bilyk is predeceased by her husband Ivan Bilyk; and son Jake Bilyk. She is survived by sons Ron Bilyk, Wasyl Bilyk, Fred Bilyk, and Peter Bilyk; daughters, Helen Tester, and Frosinia Choroneko; a brother Wasyl Choroneko; and sisters Nadia Fedoriw, and Tamara Novick.

Visitation was held at Denis S. O'Connor's Funeral Home.

Burial by the North Babylon Ceme-tery Association.


Ariel Bianca Fuller

Ariel Bianca Fuller, who had many relatives in Redfern and Edgemere, passed away on March 27. She was 10 years old.

Fuller was born in Queens, and was a student in the Lawrence School District.

She is survived by her parents Lloyd and Sophia; grandparents Lorna Powell-Smallhorne, Patrick Anderson, and her nana, Ruby Wilson; aunts and uncles, Michelle, Crisana, Dawn, Omar, Shanna, Tanya, Tricia, Cheryl, Karen, Jacqueline, Antionette, Tasha, Shawn, and Patrick; cousins Nicholas, Abby-Gaye, and others.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home.

A mass was held at St. John's Baptist Church, Inwood.

Burial was at the Amityville Cemetery, Long Island.


Bernard McCabe
Navy Veteran

Bernard McCabe, a forty-year Rockaway resident, passed away on April 4.

McCabe, a resident of Island Park, in Nassau County, was born in Brooklyn. He lived in Rockaway for four decades, and was a parishioner at St. Francis DeSales Church. McCabe's service in the United States Navy began in 1955.

McCabe is preceded in death by his wife Jane Mary (Nee Matero) McCabe.

He is survived by daughters Patricia Loughran, and Debbie Maxon; a son, Robert McCabe; his sister Bridget McCabe; and brother James McCabe. Also survived by his grandchildren Emma, Kate, Jane, and Victoria.

Visitation was held at the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home.

Burial was at Long Island National Cemetery.


Marie McDermott
Family Woman

Marie McDermott, formerly of Far Rockaway, died on April 7.

McDermott, a resident of East Rockaway, is preceded in death by her husband Thomas, and daughter Marie McDermott.

She is survived by her other children Thomas, Virginia Askey, Patricia Goodwin, and Rita Campbell. Also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family received friends last week at the Perry Funeral Home in Lynbrook.

A funeral mass was held at St. Raymonds Roman Catholic Church, in East Rockaway.

Interment is at Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery in Cold Spring, N.J.


Fay Lande
Tova Nahar Member

Fay Lande, formerly of Cedarhurst and Far Rockaway died March 20. She was 91.

Lande was born in Manhattan in December of 1911 to Rebecca and Louis Elitzak. She grew up in Brooklyn.

In 1933, she married Isadore "Ike" Lande. They moved to the Rockaways, and Ike opened Lande Plumbing & Heating Supply Company. They lived in Bayswater for 20 years before moving to Cedarhurst where they would live for 35 years.

Lande was a life member of Hadassah, and was very active in the Far Rockaway chapter of Tova Nahar for many years.

Lande is survived by her husband of 69 years. Also by daughter Myrna Lewis; a son Ken, their spouses Paul and Anita, respectively. She had nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.


Francis Thomas Narducci
Home Attendant

Francis Thomas Narducci, a Rockaway resident for at least 30 years, died March 28.

Narducci was Born in Rayford, N.C. She worked as a home attendant.

She is survived by her husband Reverend Robert Narducci, daughter Betty Jean Thomas Graham, grandchildren Dawn and Alfonso, sisters Margaret Wilson and Estella Signal, many nephews and others.

A mass was held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Rockaway.

Viewing at Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inwood.

Interment at Northside Cemetery, N.C.

Marion Quinn

Marion Quinn, a Rockaway resident for more than 30 years, passed away on April 5.

Quinn was a stay at home mother, who raised three children. She was in the Peninsula Hospital Center when she died.

She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick Quinn.

Quinn is survived by her children Sharon Solis, Bob Quinn, and Christine "Tina" Quinn, of Tiberio Restaurant; also by nine grandchildren: Richard, John, PJ, Breanne, Linda, Donna, Victoria, Meghan, and Kayla.

Memorial services will be held at St. Rose of Lima on Tuesday, April 15, at 9:30 a.m.


James W. Rollman
Medical Assistant

James W. Rollman, whose mother Esther lived in Rockaway for 50 years, passed away March 22. He was 46.

Rollman was born in Brooklyn. He worked as a medical assistant. Esther Rollman is a resident of the Brookhaven Rehabilitation and Heath Care Center.

He is survived by Esther, brothers Richard, Robert, Ronald and Russell Rollman, by sister Esther Gordon. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rollman was cremated in N.J. on March 27.

Patricia Waldorf
Fitness Trainer

Patricia (Nee Binghi) Waldorf, a Belle Harbor resident for more than ten years, died April 3.

Waldorf, who was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church, was a personal trainer affiliated with several health clubs.

She is survived by her husband Thomas F. Waldorf; a brother Alfred Binghi and his wife Mary Ann; and a sister Brenda Marmo. Waldorf was an aunt to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews as well.


Doris Denmark Zachary
Psychotherapist, Lobbyist

Doris Denmark Zachary, who grew up in Rockaway and raised her children here, died March 12.

A resident of Plantation, Fla., her family said she never moved far from the sandy beaches.

Zachary was a psychotherapist, with a successful private practice, for nearly 30 years. She specialized in the treatment of eating disorders. Zachary also lobbied in the United States Congress, and contributed to national news publications.

Doris is survived by her children Michael and Michelle Zachary and Barbara and Kent Grelling; grandchildren Jordan, Danielle and Alexandra; ex-husband Lloyd; brothers Robert and Larry Denmark. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and colleagues.

A memorial service was held in Fla., and a scholarship fund has been established in her memory at Nova University. The family asks that donations be sent to the Doris Denmark Zachary Trust Fund, C/O Michael Zachary, 1555 Seagrape Way, Hollywood, Fla. 33019.
