PHC Begins ER Modernization

PHC Begins ER Modernization

Peninsula Hospital Center (PHC) began its final stages of its Emergency Department Modernization Project on Wednesday. This renovation and construction phase will continue until May 2003. The final result will be an updated state-of-the-art facility, which is being supported by Sweet’N Low®. "We have completed the clinical areas of the Modernization Project and are now beginning to renovate the waiting areas," stated Robert V. Levine, President and Chief Executive Officer at PHC. The final stage of the renovation includes a new triage area, adult and pediatric waiting rooms, and an updated registration center. During this period, a trailer will be set up directly in front of the Emergency Department to house these temporary facilities. "The Emergency Department will remain open and operational in full capacity for all clinical activities", added Mr. Levine. "We greatly appreciate everyone’s support while we update this critical area to better serve our community." If you have any questions pertaining to this project you may call the Peninsula Hospital Center Department of Public Affairs at (718) 734-2506.
