Trinity Services:  Luncheon Wednesday April 30th

In 1994, I founded Trinity Services to bring services to seniors in our area who were geographically isolated and suffered from a lack of accessible services. Many of our seniors are living alone.

Trinity Services sponsors a van program. The van is available for group trips. In order to schedule a trip, seniors need to gather 10 to 14 people who want to go to the same place.  Once you have your group assembled please call (718) 474-1641 to schedule your excursion. Stella Pepi is the van coordinator. She has extensive experience with administering group trips. Stella will be happy to help you with the logistics of coordinating and planning an enjoyable and successful event.

Trinity Services is planning its first annual fund raiser luncheon on Wednesday April 30th at 12 Noon at Russo’s on the Bay at 162-45 Crossbay Boulevard.  Tickets are $40.00 per person. Call 718-474-1641 to reserve a seat. Luncheons at Russo’s are spectacular events. The menu is extensive, the surroundings are elegant and the staff is highly trained to execute an outstanding event.

Since the City and State are experiencing severe financial downturns it is incumbent upon us to raise monies to keep our program moving.

At our luncheon we will be honoring several people who are outstanding contributors to the lives of New York City residents. The honorees include, Dr. Kathleen Cashin, Regional Superintendent for the Department of Education. Dr. Cashin has been appointed by Chancellor Joel Klein to assume the leadership of the schools in District 27 Queens, District 29, Brooklyn and District 23, Brooklyn. Dr. Cashin has been an outstanding educator and the superintendent of District 23.  She has provided a valuable framework for that district to continue to grow. We look forward to her new leadership role. She will receive our Educator of the Year Award.

Stanley Gelda, an honoree, has had an extensive and illustrious career as a CPA.  Stan has provided fiscal guidance and advice to top firms in the New York City area, which is the financial capital of the United States.  Stan is an innovator and a leader. He has a strong record of accomplishment. He is the President elect of the West End Temple. He is receiving the Businessman of the Year Award.

Robert Levine, an honoree, is the President and CEO of our Peninsula Hospital Center. His administrative abilities are obvious to anyone who has had the opportunity to go to Peninsula Hospital. Whether one is going there for medical tests, going there for in patient care and surgery or visiting someone, Robert Levine’s unique signature and administrative talents are obvious to everyone. He has moved Peninsula Hospital into the 21st Century by providing top-notch medical care. He has assembled a renowned medical team. He also administers the rehabilitation center, which provides excellent top of the line services.  Robert Levine is a professional who has really made a difference and will receive our Outstanding Leadership Award.

Kathleen Riddle, the President of Outreach Project, has an outstanding state wide reputation for providing excellent programs for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The programs that she has initiated are models for other organizations. The residential facilities in Ridgewood and in Brentwood are structured and well organized. The day treatment programs provided at the Myrtle Avenue facility are very successful. Kathy Riddle has just started a special opportunity school in connection with the Department of Education.  I am proud to be a member of the Board of Directors of Outreach and to honor this outstanding professional who will receive our Distinguished Public Service Award.

Joseph Ruggiere is a pioneer.  He has started a new bank, which is certified by the Federal Reserve System. The new bank provides an opportunity for community organizations and individuals to secure a solid fiscal foundation.  Joseph Ruggiere is the right man, in the right place, at the right time.  He is providing a vital and essential service.  He will be receiving our Community Service Award.

Please join us at our first annual fund raiser on Wednesday, April 30th at 12 Noon at Russo’s.  The funds raised at the event will go toward continuing the Trinity programs.  Please call us at 718-474-1641 to reserve your seat.  You will enjoy the afternoon and experiencing a wonderful and elegant function.  It is a WIN, WIN situation. I look forward to seeing you there.
