Broad Channel Athletic Club Looking For Boys/Girls Travel Teams By Marty Feeney

The Broad Channel Athletic Club is looking for serious girls that are interested in joining a softball travel team. Girls that are born in either 1989 or 1990 are eligible to become a team member. The team will play in a local church league here in southern Queens. Home games will be played in on the brand new black top field at the American Park located in Broad Channel.

Ricky Guttieri who has been coaching girls’ softball for over ten years and has taken many teams to the championship, will be the manager. If you are a serious player and are looking to get some playing time and gear up for high school, contact the Broad Channel Athletic Club at 718 318 6565 or visit us at the web at www.eteamz.com/bcac The season is right around the corner and practices are soon to begin. The fee is $85.00 and includes a complete uniform and insurance.

We are also looking for teenage boys and girls to play on a travel team this spring. We are looking for girls between the ages of 13 to 14 to play on a travel team that will begin play in late April. The boys Travel team will be open to players between the ages of 15 through 16, players cannot be turn 17 before August 1st 2003. I am trying to get these older kids involved in sports and I need some more players to be able to have a team in their age category. I am sure their are players out there wanting to play ball and this is a great way of getting the word out. In today’s world it is important to keep teenagers involved in something other than hanging out on the streets and this is just one way of accomplishing that. Anyone that is interested can register on Thursday 3/27 at Memorial Field, or contact 718 318 0600 or email me at bcacwebsite@aol.com.
