Kearney Salutes Excellence
Bishop Kearney High School awarded academic scholarships to members of the Class of 2007, at a dinner held at school to honor them, their parents and their principals. Forty-four young ladies from twenty-six parochial, private and public schools earned full or partial scholarships totaling over $77,000 per school year, based on their achieving a score over the ninetieth percentile on the Cooperative Ent- rance Examination, school records indicating sixth, seventh and eighth grade records over 90% and a personal interview with a member of the Kearney faculty. These scholarships are renewable each year, as long as the student maintains a 90% average. Six eighth graders from the Rockaway peninsula were among the honorees. After dinner they posed for a picture.
