Far Rockaway HS Art Displayed

Far Rockaway HS Art Displayed

The Black and Women’s History Month Celebration was held at York College in Jamaica, where over 200 paintings were on display. Most of the paintings were done by professional artists. However, Far Rockaway High School had three students; Tinni Chowdbury, Mani-sha Ramjassingh and Latasha Thompson, who had their art work displayed. Seven Far Rockaway High School students were recognized by the New York State Art Teachers Association. They were: Cheryl Bartow, Tinni Chowdbury, Stephanie Gallardo, Deirdre McNa-mee, Manisha Ramjassingh, Venise Spence, Latasha Thompson, and Jeanette Stone. In addition to having their artwork displayed, these seven Far Rockaway High School students were recognized by the New York State Art Teachers Association. All of these beautiful and talented young artists are in Far Rockaway High School’s re-nowned advanced painting class taught by Ms. Virginia McCauley.
