QCA Presents Round Table On March 27
The Queens Council on the Arts presents a Round Table Discussion on Thursday, March 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Queens Borough Hall located on Queens Boulevard nearby the Van Wyck Expressway in Kew Gardens.
The discussion is entitled "Promotion and Community-building Through Arts Partnerships."
Panelists on the round table are Tom Finkelpearl, Executive Director, Queens Museum of Art; Geoff Rawling, artist and President, Rockaway Artists Alliance; and Barbara Rudnick, District Arts Coordinator for School District 27, NYC Education Department.
This is the third event in Queens Council on the Arts "Art Builds Community" program, a series of technical workshops and round table gatherings designed to strengthen and support the Queens arts community.
This round table discussion will address the role of partnerships in cultural programming, which is a pressing issue for both organizations and individuals, particularly in today’s climate.
The panelists will present ideas and examples of successful arts partnerships through which artists and cultural organizations can expand the impact of their programming, while also increasing the opportunity for self-promotion throughout the communities they serve. The panel presentation will be followed by discussions. There will be time for questions and answers, as well as an informal reception.
