Junior Rangers Meet On March 15
On Saturday, March 15, at 1 p.m., the National Park Service will sponsor a children’s program at historic Floyd Bennett Field.
The program will take place at the Ryan Visitor Center, the building that once housed the historic airport’s terminal and control tower.
Children ages 7 to 12, accompanied by an adult, are invited to explore the history and aerodynamics of flight, from kites to jets, and learn about the National Park Service’s role in preserving aviation history.
Hands-on paper airplane and kite making will be highlighted. All materials will be provided.
This program is free, but reservations are required. For reservations, directions and more information about the Junior Ranger Program, call (718) 338-3799.
Floyd Bennett Field is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area. It is located on Flatbush Avenue, just north of the Marine Parkway Bridge in Brooklyn.
