Fairfield Wins Rugby Tournament

Fairfield College won the 6th annual St. Patricks College Rugby Tournament at Ft. Tilden this past Saturday. The event, which is run by the Rockaway Rugby Club (the Fisheads), is held each year on the day of the Queens St. Patrick’s Day parade. The Fisheads use the tournament to recruit new players for their club and to raise money for their non-profit organization. The club also makes a donation to the Tom Regan Foundation. Tom "Reegs" Regan is a rugby player who suffered a catastrophic injury while playing rugby at Oneonta College.

The Participants this year were Fairfield, Scranton, Stonybrook, and Kings Pt. Merchant Marine Acadamy. A post tournament party was held at the rugby clubhouse, where Fairfield was presented with their winning trophy.
