Remains ID’d As Murdered Male
A partial human torso found on a Rockaway street last December is that of a man who was murdered, the New York City Medical Examiner said this week.
On Tuesday, December 17, 2002, police from the 100 Precinct, responding to an anonymous call that there was a "possible body" on Beach 63 Street between Rockaway Beach Boulevard and the Boardwalk, found a partial human torso stuffed into a plastic garbage bag.
Both the body’s head and extremities were missing, and, at the time, the medical examiner could not even tell the gender of the victim.
Investigators are still working to identify the murdered man.
