Rockaway Repair On RPA’s Agenda
The Rockaway Park Association (RPA) recently mailed a notice to Newport Avenue homeowners infor-ming them of the scheduled completion of the roadwork repair in the next few weeks.
According to the notice, the City of New York and the contractor are only responsible to restore the sidewalk along Newport Avenue to its original setting. Homeowners that want trees or grass removed and the sidewalk in front of their property filled in as a solid sidewalk must make a special request.
"As your local civic association, we feel it is necessary to forewarn you that if you as a homeowner make any special requests for additional sidewalk or driveway fill-ins, you will be receiving a bill from the City of New York," the RPA’s Board of Directors wrote in the notice.
Any special or specific requests should be in writing and mailed or faxed ASAP directly to the Depart-ment of Design and Construction’s field office at 187 Beach 129 Street, Belle Harbor, NY 11694, (718) 318-8316, fax: (718) 318-7359.
The Rockaway Park Association has represented homeowners and tenants from Beach 117 Street to Beach 129 Street since 1996. The RPA can be reached at P.O. Box 194, Fort Tilden, NY 11695 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
