Breezy Point Resident Attending Law School
Doreen Dufficy has been attending an accelerated law degree at St. John’s School of Law, beginning her studies in January of 2003. Her J.D. degree will be completed in two and as half years.
She attended Iona College under a scholarship with Dean’s List Honors every semester. She graduated summa cum laude in the Fall of 2002 after three and a half years. Her major was Spanish, with a major grade point average of 4.0, and a cumulative average of 3.92.
Some of her many honors included being a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, Iota Alpha. She’s also a member of the National Catholic Honorary and the Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.
Among the activities that Dufficy participated in incl-ude being the Secretary of the Gaelic Society at Iona Coll-ege, and a member of the Pre-Law Society.
As a candidate for many scholarships to study abroad, she chose to study in Spain with the University of New Paltz in the summer of 2002. She also participated in a legal internship at Kew Gardens Courthouse.
Dufficy worked part-time during the summers, as well as throughout the school year, tutoring at-risk high school students in Yonkers, N.Y.
