Beach 65 Street Fire Draws 100 Firefighters
A two-alarm fire that raged through the second floor of a home at 412 Beach 65 Street on Friday, February 28, caused lots of damage to the home, but only one minor injury to a resident of the house.
Firefighters were called to the fire by an anonymous call to the city’s 911 emergency system at 5:04 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:07 p.m., only minutes later, to find the house fully involved in fire.
A second alarm was called in at 5:18 by fire officials and several additional units responded.
In all, more than 25 fire units with 106 firefighters fought the fire.
The fire, which is still under investigation by fire marshals, was declared under control at 6:09 p.m.
