Bus Hearing Slated For March 17
The New York City Department of Transportation will hold a Public Hearing to preserve existing weekend express bus service, on a proposal to eliminate the reduced fare for express bus service by Command Bus Company, Inc., Green Bus Lines, Inc., Queens Surface Corporation, Jamaica Buses, Inc., and Triboro Coach Corporation.
The public hearing will be held on Monday, March 17, 2003, at 2 p.m., at 120-55 Queens Boulevard, Room 213, Part 2, Queens Borough Presidents Office.
The Department of Transportation will take comments from the public regarding the proposed decision by the City of New York, acting by and through the Department of Transportation, to have the above bus companies eliminate the reduced express bus fare, resulting in an increase in the fare from $3.00 to $4.00, effective on or about April 1, 2003.
Many Rockaway residents utilize the express bus service.
