RAA Sets Open Call To Artists
Rockaway Artists Alliance (RAA) members and non-members both are invited to submit slides & photos of artwork to be juried for the exhibition "Destinations." The theme of the exhibition focuses on the artist’s travels to both foreign and not-so-foreign places.
Artworks can be of various media including, but not limited to: Original paintings, limited edition prints, photographs, jewelry, sculpture (exhibit-ors must provide their own pedestals), pottery, ceramics, and stained glass. Only artworks that were not in previous RAA exhibitions will be accepted.
The deadline for submission of slides and/or photos is February 27. The exhibition will be from March 22 to April 27, 2003. The opening reception is on Sunday, March 23 at 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. in sTudio 6 Gallery, Fort Tilden, Gateway National Recreation Area.
Please include in the submission the slides/photos, an artist statement, biography/resume (email to RAA, if possible) and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
The acceptance notification will be by March 5. The drop-off of accepted artwork to sTudio 6 will be on March 9, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. and on March 10, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Please note that there will be a hanging fee of $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
Works on paper (such as watercolors, drawings and photographs) must be securely framed with wires across the back for hanging. The works must be framed under glass.
Submitted photographs of work may be used for publicity purposes.
