‘It Could Have Been Fatal’
‘It Could Have Been Fatal’ On Wednesday, February 12, the framework of a house under construction was ripped away by high winds along Beach 30 Street and Seagirt Boulevard. A number of emergency responders were on the scene within minutes to try and keep motorists and pedestrians from entering what was a considered a "danger zone." Police were very concerned that the strong winds would fling debris and sharp objects into the air and cause injuries. Eventually, police sectioned off the street, as investigators arrived to try and determine if other factors were involved in the collapse. No one was injured, but a car parked next to the site was seriously damaged. "This situation, it could have been fatal," said a police officer guarding the site. "The guys who were supposed to start working hadn't arrived yet."
