If you love song and dance you will really take to Oklahoma, the latest musical revival on Broadway. Many years ago I saw the original and though it has changed in set and scenes, actors and dancers, it is still an enthralling and entertaining show. Don’t forget the Rodgers and Hammerstein music hasn’t changed. Stephen Buntrock (Curly) who desperately tries to pursue and win over pretty (Laurey). Josefina Gabrielle has the voice and looks to suit the part and does an excellent job opposite Josefina has a sweet melodious voice in playing the "hard to get" role. She is the first actress ever to dance her own Dream Ballet in the West End and on Broadway. Patty Duke was just amazing! She really delighted me as the concerned and protective aunt who runs the whole show.

The stage scenery was superb and costumes so fitting and just right for the time and place by set & costume designer, Anthony Ward. Need I tell you, the choreography was outstanding by Susan Stromaan. She was awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for the National Production of Oklahoma for the Royal National Theatre Production of Oklahoma; Tony awards for The Producer and many other awards. When you see the show you’ll appreciate her talents. Jessica Boevers (Ado Annie) rocked the audience with her "I’m Just A Girl Who Can’t Say No" and "All or Nothin" There is a cast of thousands and I can’t mention them all, but they certainly performed to their best. Musical Original orchestrations by Robert Russell Bennett who has arranged more than 300 Broadway musical scores. Some shows you enjoy seeing over again. Oklahoma is one.

Lane Bryant startled the audience with their runway of plus size models in their Lingerie Show this week. Roseanne Barr strutted her stuff as she emceed the fabulous show. Dance routines, singers, beautiful big models in short teddies and short and long cover-ups that swept the floor made this show so spectacular Victoria Secret better watch out. There was more to see and more to love in full fashions for women. After all, 70% of American women are over size 14 and up.

It has been a rough winter for many…and even more so for those who have lost loved ones in our midst: George Leib sr., electrician (the best in Breezy Point along with his three sons who followed the trade); Marion Freeman of B.222nd St and George Zwick. My condolences to the families of all.

The VOTF (Voice of the Faithful), newly formed organization to help fight for reform in the Catholic Church and initiate change will meet at the American Legion Hall in IRockaway Beach on Wed., March 26 at 7:30pm They hope to have a victim/survivor to address the members and will donate time for audience feedback. All are welcome. On Feb. 20 at 7:30pm at St. Ignatius Lyola, 980 Park Ave. in Manhattan, Kathleen Mc Chesney, on the Board of Child and Youth Protection for the US Conference of Catholics and former Sr. Exec. of the FBI, will speak at a VOTF meeting on Protecting and Healing. Try to be there. Special Suffolk County Grand Jury found the Diocese of Rockville Centre repeatedly protected abusive priests by transferring them and setting up a mechanism that protected them from being discovered. Big change is long overdue and the VOTF is fighting to make that change. If you love your church, join the VOTF for a better religious life for the priests and safety for our little ones. Their motto is: Keeping the Faith…. Changing the Church.
