Preserving A Legacy

Preserving A Legacy

This is a letter sent to Bayswater Friends and Neighbors from the Bayswater Civic Association, Inc.

To our Bayswater Friends and Neighbors,

It is with great sorrow that we must inform you that Gloria Warshofsky, President of Bayswater Civic Association, passed away during the evening of January 28, 2003. Gloria’s death is a great blow to our community.

As the president of this civic association for many, many years, Gloria was always in the forefront of any action that represented good for her beloved Bayswater community. Gloria represented us at Community Board #14; had ongoing contact with the commanders of the 101 Precinct; worked with our elected officials and heads of agencies; and community neighbors, always trying to obtain for Bayswater what was required, and trying to blunt actions we felt were detrimental to our well being. She did this with honor and to the best of her considerable ability.

Her main concern was always what kind of impact would there be on the community. It was always with this thought in mind that she conducted the business of our association. She worked very hard to ensure that no harm ever came to the Bayswater area, and she was passionate about our community, a community that she dearly loved.

The Executive Board and the Board of Directors of the Bayswater Civic Association, following Gloria’s footsteps, is determined to continue, with your help, on the path she has set for us.

EXECUTIVE BOARD, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, THE BAYSWATER CIVIC ASSOCIATION
