It Could Not Have Happened

It Could Not Have Happened

I am in shock over your coverage of the Yeshiva incident. It is not possible that a boy from the Yeshiva would even touch a girl in front of fellow students and certainly not push one. Regardless, the incident mentioned involves pushing and some slurs and is very trivial and should not deserve any press. Second, the article will serve as a catalyst for anti Semitic attacks.  As a Jewish Orthodox resident of Belle Harbor, Far Rockaway and Bayswater for the past 15 years I heard of countless, severe anti Semitic attacks in the Rockaways. Most go unnoticed by the press.

The Yeshiva has been extra careful to show respect and concern for all residents of Belle Harbor. Who cannot remember how the students reached out to the residents and firemen after flight 587 offering them meals and coffee. There needs to be more understanding from all groups involved from the very young to the senior citizens to respect people from all faiths and races. Rabbi Dicker  and Pastor Geraghty are taking very positive steps in discussing methods to diffuse any biases.
