Express Buses, Not Ferries

What is this thing that our local representatives have about ferry service in Rockaway???  Have we not been there, done that at least twice before? 

Has anyone ever heard of the word EXPRESS bus???? 

Why is it that you can go into any other neighborhood and they all have some kind of
EXPRESS bus service???  For example, Bay Ridge has buses that run approximately every 10 - 15 minutes during the week and  two different services are available.  One bus runs downtown to midtown and the other goes directly to midtown via the FDR Drive.  Recently, they even started express service on the weekends.  What is wrong with Rockaway???  Oh yes, I am sorry, we do have express service.

One bus!!  It leaves Rockaway at 7:15 am, weekdays only and it goes to midtown. Can't one of our reps from Rockaway negotiate something with GreenLine or Triboro Coach for more service??  Have we in Rockaway ever been asked what kind of transportation we would prefer??

And to Helen Marshall, who said, "the people on the Rockaway peninsula deserve a ferry" and "I will be there to christen it", and to all of the other local politicians who have ferry on the mind, my question is, when we have weather like we have been having and the bay turns to ice
how is this ferry, which we in Rockaway so "deserve", going to run?  Will the boats have blades
built into the bottom so they can glide across??

Ferry service from Rockaway would be great for the summer months, on weekends in particular.  To be able to go into the city or even Sheepshead Bay to shop, go to lunch or even just walk around would be nice.

But, for the winter, in the cold, in the rain or the snow, no way!
