Tiger Woods: Profile of A Golfing Legend
By Gary G. Toms

The Wave is proud to salute other great African-American pioneer: Tiger Woods. Since bursting onto the professional golfing circuit, Woods has managed to become what many consider to be the greatest golfer in the history of the game. His conquest of major tournaments, such as The Masters, has placed him alongside some of the greatest golfers ever, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

"The wins have been great, but quite frankly, I'm just getting started," said Woods during a recent television interview.

His involvement with various charitable organizations and inner-city children has made him the consummate role model, and young kids across the country are choosing to pick up golf clubs instead of a football or baseball because of Tiger Woods, an African-American hero.
