Many Great Memories…

Many Great Memories...

Dear Editor;

I am writing to you because a writer in Rockaway might be on your staff. He was interviewed on the radio about the Rockaway plane crash one month after September 11 crash.

The interview is very important to me because I like all my young ----up to about 24 years of age when I came back from WWII in which I was a pilot (heavy), B17, B24, etc.

There may have been a write-up in your newspaper. In wartime my name was Alfred Litman. My name now is Alfred Litman Perla. I lived at 548 B. 68 St., Arverne. Went to Far Rockaway High School. I did love reading your newspaper, which my mother sent to me as hometown news from home.

The interview on radio was most welcome and very interesting to me, and I would love to find out name of author and title of book. I figure writing to you I may get the info, plus author's name.

It was great growing up in Rockaway, and I still have many great memories.

ALFRED LITMAN PERLA
