New President Appointed At Peninsula Hospital

Robert V. Levine, President and Chief Executive Officer at Peninsula Hospital Center, announced the appointment of Henry Steiner, M.D., Director of Surgery, as President of the Medical Board.

"I am proud to announce the election of Dr. Steiner as our new president of the Medical Board," said Mr. Levine. "He is among the finest physicians on our esteemed medical staff and in the community, and his expertise will be a great asset as we continue to strive for excellence in the delivery of patient care."

Dr. Steiner has been the Director of the Department of Surgery at Peninsula Hospital Center since 1997. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brooklyn College in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He went on to graduate Cum Laude from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1976. After completing both a residency and fellowship, Dr. Steiner became an attending surgeon at Maimonides Medical Center and opened a private practice of General and Vascular Surgery in Brooklyn.

Dr. Steiner served as the Chairman of the Operating Room Committee, Vice Chairman of the Institutional Review Board and a member of the Credentials Committee at Peninsula Hospital Center. He is Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Steiner has been named as one of New York’s "Best Doctors" by the Castle Connolly Guide in every edition published.

Dr. Steiner and his wife reside in Lawrence, N.Y.
