Hundreds Of Children Given Toys By St. Edmund Prep

Hundreds Of Children Given Toys By St. Edmund Prep

St. Edmund Prep extended outstanding efforts for the needy children of the city. The Senior class collected toys for "Hour Children," an organization dedicated to the children of incarcerated women. These toys were given to the children at the annual Christmas Party for more than 350 children on December 21.

The Junior class collected educational toys, books, games, dolls of ethnic backgrounds, scarves, hats, gloves, sweat pants and sweat shirts for Providence House, an organization serving women and children.

The Sophomore class involved themselves in the St. John’s Bread and Life Adopt-A-Family program. There were more than 1,800 families registered for the holiday turkey and toy giveaway, with over 4,000 children receiving toys.

The Freshmen class provided a "Bright Christmas" for families sponsored by Catholic Charities. Each class adopted a particular family and fulfilled their Christmas ‘wish list." The St. Edmund Prep faculty adopted a family, as well as individual members of the Faculty and staff adopted individual families.
