Darrigan Plan Is Brilliant!

Darrigan Plan Is Brilliant!

Dear Editor;

A big KISS (Keeping It Simple and Straight) for my Darrigan. If P.S. 225 and P.S. 114 must be rezoned, then the Darrigan plan is brilliant! The additional costs of busing, if any, for the less than 11/2 miles traveled would be nominal and much more cost effective than establishing new bus routes. By the way, if up-zoning was approved is Beach 129 Street, far enough, or should it extend to Beach 135 Street? Would the boundary line be in the middle of the street?

The Darrigan plan is much more defined and enforceable. Neighborhood is defined as "the region surrounding or near someplace," Does anyone consider Breezy Point, as part of the fabric of the Rockaway community. The people I know who live there certainly don't. As an educated editor with an education background, what are your thoughts on this busing plan? How about using your newspaper as the forum for Mr. Bromme and school board members to give their views on this in the context of the stated objectives of the rezoning action as well as academic and pedagogy concerns. The only objections to this plan have been centered around race and real estate.
