Children Enjoyed Party

Children Enjoyed Party

Dear Editor;

If you wanted a lesson in glorified humanity, you should have attended the Claddagh Inn's Annual Christmas Party held December 24 at the St. Rose of Lima Church. The Claddagh gave away over a thousand gifts to children throughout the community, including Hammel Houses residents and residents of Carlton Manor.

The glitter of young eyes seeing Santa Claus for the very first time was a glorious event. Children of all ages received gifts. Lively Christmas music and desserts expounded a wonderful and joyous Christmas spirit and the Claddagh spirit of brotherhood and charity to everyone. I would personally like to thank the Director of the Claddagh Inn, Dr. Tony Job, and the Principal and clergy of St. Rose of Lima for allowing the Claddagh Christmas celebrations to be held there.

Gifts were also contributed by Firefighter Associations from New York and other states, as well as Toys-R-Us and other vendors. The party made Christmas Eve and Christmas Day a very, very happy day for hundreds of little Rockaway children due to the joint efforts of the kind people above, and the gracious and faithful Claddagh Inn volunteers. This community certainly appreciates the kindness of the Claddagh Inn.
