Dear Editor;

     I wish to express my sincerest sympathy to the family and friends of the late Dr. Barbara R. Levine, internist. Not only was she my family doctor, but she was a personal friend of my family as well.

     I was quite shocked to read an article by Dr. Nancy Gahles in last week's edition. In the article Dr. Gahles, a chiropractor, states that the Haemophilus Influenza type b (Hib) vaccine has been "proven" to cause Diabetes Mellitus in vaccine recipients.

     As a surfer born and raised on the Rockaway shores it was very disturbing to read all about law enforcement handing out tickets to surfers who were taking advantage of our free ocean during the hours that lifeguards were not on duty.
