Obituaries Peter E. Belford, a life time resident of Breezy Point, passed away on July 2, 2002 at the age of 53. A dedicated worker and former Marine, Peter was the owner of a Boar's Head Distributorship. He is survived by his wife, Chickie; daughter, Suzanne, sons, Matthew and Petie, mother, Gertrude, sisters, Betty Belford, Judy Carpenter, and Mary Hunter. Funeral arrangements were handled under the direction of N.F. Walker of Queens, Inc. Funeral Home. Anne Collins Anne Collins, born in Ireland, was a 10-year resident of Rockaway Beach who passed away on July 3, 2002. Anne worshipped at St. Rose of Lima and spent her life surrounded by loving family members and friends. She is survived by her brother, Charles Collins; sister, Mary Kirby; and many nieces and nephews here and in Ireland. Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc. was held at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Veronica J. Fuchs Veronica J. (nee McNamara) Fuchs, born in Manhattan, was a 12-year resident of the Breezy Point who died on July 4, 2002. Veronica worshipped at St. Thomas More Church and was a retired corrections officer with the New York City Department of Corrections. She was a 30-year summer resident who moved to Breezy Point in her retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Fuchs. She is survived by her sons, James and Kenneth Fuchs; granddaughter, Nicole Fuchs; and grandson, James Fuchs. Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc was held at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Gloria Metzer Gloria Metzer, born in Long Beach, New York, was a 28-year resident of Rockaway Point who passed away on July 5, 2002. Gloria was employed as an executive secretary for Skaden Arps Meagher and Flom. She is survived by her husband, Paul J. Metzer; son, Paul D. Metzer; and grandchildren, Olivia and David. Services were handled under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc. Helen Perlitz Helen Perlitz, born in the Bronx, was a resident of the Rockaway community for 37 years. She passed away on June 30, 2002. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Scacalossi; husband, Robert Perlitz; brother, Joseph Scacalossi; and sister, Claire Pugliese. She is survived by her children, Robert Perlitz, Linda Gallery, John Urbaniak, Helen Lee and Donna Labriola; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John and Raymond Scacalossi; 11 nieces and nephews; and many friends. Interment was held at St. Anastasia on July 3, 2002. | |||||
