     The businesspeople on Beach 116 Street say that this was the best July 4 weekend that they’ve had in years. People came off the subway by the thousands and many others came by bus, despite the fact that there is a bus strike in progress.

     Breezy Point residents witnessed an unusual event this week, as a small plane landed on the beach at Beach 215 Street over the holiday weekend. The plane, piloted by a Greek Orthodox priest from Manhattan, made an emergency landing when its engine failed.
