Stan Pepper Steppers Step To Classic Victory

The Sorrentino Recreation Center’s Stan Pepper Steppers won 7 out of 10 first place division awards in the 11th Annual 2002 Double Dutch Holiday Classic held on Sunday, December 22, 2002 a the Symphony Space Theatre in Manhattan.

Teams from Japan, Pennsylvania, Florida, and New York competed in this spectacular event. The Pepper Steppers showed why they are #1 in the world in the sport of Double Dutch with dazzling performances both in speed and in freestyle (tricks) captivating the audience. Top honors for speed was awarded to the Pepper Steppers.

The following is a lost of coaches and team members: Jumpers: Laa’Neisha Jones, Monet Davis, Alaisya Woodard, Tylee Smith, Jocelyn Castaneda, Jessica Alexander, Deidre Morissey, Muniyra Moore, Paula Robinson, Shanae Wallace, Robiesha Davis, Fracois Nicolas, Katherine Rocha, Cherise Bartow, Tanisha Holiday, Porchia Woodard, LaQuasha Brown, Camay Cardwell, Glennda Thompkins, Camilla Ensley, Deandrea Jordan, Ebonie Johnson, Kimberly Salmond, Domonique Harris, Shawntel Ramos and Marissa Webber-Bey.

Coaches and Officials: Stan Brown, Yatte Brown, Linda Brown, Carol Walker, Tiffany Taylor, Antoinette Pizarro and Katisha Simpkins.

Dance Team Half Our Age

The dance team Half Our Age participated at the World Famous Apollo Theatre’s Super Top Dog Show on Monday, December 23, 2002. Monica coaches the group and the team members include: Robieshia Davis, Laa’Neisha Jones, Cherise Bartow, Paula Robinson and Kyana Bartow.

The audience judges the show and to no surprise, Half Our Age exhibited quite a performance with a dazzling dance routine. The groups’ coach and team members are all from the Far Rockaway area and are members of the Sorrentino Recreation Center.
