Howard W. Ellis
"Howie"

Howard W. Ellis, affectionately known as "Howie", passed away at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital on December 3, 2002. He was 65.

Howard was born and raised in Colon, Panama, where he was also educated. He eventually moved to Far Rockaway and built a successful career as an electronics specialist. Howard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army (Private-First Class), and received an honorable discharge at the end of his military career.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Ellis; daughters, Vanessa and Dina Ellis; granddaughter, Crystal Simone Ellis; brother, Handel Winston Ellis Jr; sisters-in-law, Wilma Ellis and Gloria Lovell; grand-nieces, Alexis and Taylor Thompson; nephews, Mark, Richard and Herbert Lovell; nephew-in-law, Robert Thompson; special friend, Irvin; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were handled under the direction of the Lawrence Funeral Chapel.

Theresa M. Kulikowsky
Homemaker

Theresa M. Kulikowsky, born in Brooklyn, was a 40-year resident of Rockaway Park. She died on December 17, 2002.

Theresa worshipped at St. Francis de Sales Church and spent the majority of her life as a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John Kulikowsky; son, John M. Kulikowsky; daughter, Jennifer Moerler; sister, Lucy Sangirardi; and grandchildren, Thomas and Melissa Kulikowsky and Charles and Lauren Moerler.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc. was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Helen Marciano
Retired Clerk

Helen Marciano, a resident of Inwood for 33 years, coming from Brooklyn, died on December 16, 2002. She was 78.

Helen was employed at the Darby Drug Company, in Inwood, before retiring after 25 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her niece, Julia Marciano.

She is survived by her brother, Louis Marciano and wife Pauline; 5 nephews, Francis, Patrick, Joseph, Anthony and Peter M.; 2 nieces, Elizabeth Carratelli and Mary Alvarenga; and dear friend, Frank DeLuca.

Funeral arrangements were handled under the direction of the Meserole Funeral Home, Inc.

Michael J. Moffitt Sr.
Formerly of Broad Channel

Michael J. Moffitt Sr., a resident of Woodstock, Georgia, formerly of Broad Channel and the Rockaways, passed away on December 3, 2002. He was 56.

Michael proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the mid-1960's. He was part of special unit while serving in Korea.

He is preceded in death by his son, Michael J. Moffitt Jr.; brother, Peter; sister, Linda Sullivan; and his father, Thomas M. Moffitt Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen (nee McGee); son, Timothy; daughter-in-law, Cathy; grandson, Colin Michael; daughter, Shannon; son-in-law, Scott Stubblefield; mother, Anne (nee Kolm) Moffitt; brothers, Thomas and James; sisters, Nancy A. (and husband John) and Lorraine Cassillo; sisters-in-law, Ce Ce (nee Howe) Moffitt and Terri (nee Olivucci) Moffitt; and many other family members and friends.

Interment under the direction of O'Shea's Funeral Home in Wantaugh, Long Island.
