Local Bridges Not Part Of Plan

The Triborough Bridge and Transit Authority (TBTA) has announced that the plans for bridges to be closed to automobiles that do not have four occupants in case of a citywide transit strike does not include the two bridges that tie Rockaway to the rest of the city.

"Neither the Cross Bay Bridge nor the Gil Hodges Marine Park Bridge will be involved with the plan," a TBTA spokesperson told The Wave. "That plan is only for bridges that bring traffic into and out of Manhattan."

Vehicles with fewer than four occupants can continue to use those two bridges as before.
