Broad Channel Basketball "Pee-Wees" Win

Broad Channel Basketball "Pee-Wees" Win

The B.C.A.C. Pee Wee Division, basketball team notched its' biggest win of the young season on Saturday 11/30/02.

They played from behind the St. Francis DeSales squad virtually the whole game. Finally, in the last two minutes of the 4th quarter, the B.C.A.C. team scored two quick baskets to get the win.

The home team (SFDS) made it a nail biter right to the last second. They furiously tried to score but were turned away by Broad Channel's defense. In five games the B.C.A.C. team has not given up twenty points to an opponent.

The team is let by its' three fourth graders: Taylor Ramos (2 points per game, 5 rebounds per game), Steve Ellis (5 points per game), and John Galimi (9 points per game). Taking their cue from the veterans, B.C.A.C.'s 2nd and 3rd graders anchor the stingy defense. They are: Austin Ramos, Anthony LaPorta, Joe Klein, Brandon Berrios, Caleb Hunnicutt, Michael Henglein, Peter Willsen, Tom Cani, Devven Baker and Darnell Baker.

The team pays its' home games on Wednesdays at M.S. 180, tip off at 6:45 pm. The B.C.A.C. also sponsors 2 other boys’ teams and 2 girls teams, who also play home games on Wednesdays.
