A Model Tribute to September 11
This is one of the more than 50 proposed designs for the new Tribute Park that will memorialize those Rockaway residents who were lost on September 11, 2001. The park will be built on the triangle of land at Beach 116 Street and Beach Channel Drive, across from the Rockaway Sunset Diner. Many of the models are on view at the office of The Wave and at the Rockaway Museum, both at 88-08 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Rockaway Beach.
