Former Resident Wins Coveted Prize

Former Resident Wins Coveted Prize

Every year the St. Vincent Medical Center of Manhattan’s Employee Credit Union sponsors a writing contest open to hundreds of young students.

This year the topic of the contest’s essay was "What I Love About America." The submissions were read and voted on by the Union’s Board of Directors. This year the Committee awarded the Howard Scholarship Achievement and Creative Writing Excellence Award to Sheamus Campbell.

Sheamus is an eighth grader from Huntington, Long Island. The 13 year old has made his parents, Eileen and Sean, very proud. Until only a few years ago The Campbells lived on Beach 122 Street. Also delighted with their grandson’s success is Andy and Maureen McGee – long time residents of Belle Harbor.
