Lady Dolphins Make Run For Flag Championship

By Greg Carter

By Greg Carter

The "Lady Dolphins" of Beach Channel H.S., not only outscore their fellow football mates, but the girls are making a run at New York City’s first H.S. flag football championship.

They defeated John Adams H.S. by the score of 44 to 30.  A true team effort by all sealed a tremendous first victory by the lady dolphins. Led by the tremendous quarterbacking skills of Gina Giles, who threw for three touchdown passes, and ran back a two point conversion, along with her tremendous defensive play. Also leading the touchdown parade was Ms. Charlene Green, who not only scored two touchdowns, but also played an outstanding defensive game with an interception and two knockdowns.

On the defense, Cassandra (Spy-Dog) Dean led a tenacious attack.  Also assisting in B.C,’s historic victory was Areatha Mulrain, who ran like the former Detroit Lion, Barry Sanders. What speed and moves. Daumone Stephenson, Jessica Murello, and Kungchiha Jeoboham had a great defensive game. And last but not least, a great effort by the "Lady Spartans" of John Adams, who played handicapped by not having their starting quarterback.

But hey, the season goes on for both teams again this Saturday at Far Rock H.S.  Hope to see y’all out there.  Any high school interested in participating contact the RSA at 868-4939 or the PAL at anytime !!!!!!
