Evelyn Maria Fields, born in the Bronx, passed away on September 27, 2002.
Evelyn spent the majority of her life as a housewife.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Fields and Maria Bryan; and brother, Clarence David Fields.
She is survived by her sons, Shawn Dwayne Williams and Eddie Ira Fields; stepfather, Leroy Brown; brothers, Herman, James, Jr., Richard, Glen and Norman Duke; sister, Esther Miller; four aunts; 14 nieces and nephews; a host of other family members; and special thanks to Lisa Stevenson.
Disposition under the direction of Jeremiah C, Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Oxford Hills Crematory in Chester, New York.

Avelino Gonzalez, a long time resident of the Far Rockaway community, died on October 13, 2002 at the age of 78.
Avelino spent many years as a dedicated homemaker.
He is preceded in death by his wife.
He is survived by his children, Lydia, Maria, Juan and Alvaro Diaz, Jr.; grandchildren, Trisha Guzman, Tiffany Martinez, and Cindy Diaz.
Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel was held at Cypress Hills Cemetery.
Helen Hazel, born in Canada, was a 48-year resident of Arverne who passed away on October 11, 2002.
Helen worshipped at St. Rose of Lima, and was a Past President of the VFW Post 1498 Ladies; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 272; and an active volunteer for the St. Albans Veteran's Home.
She is survived by her husband, Edward G. Hazel; daughters, Susan Hazel and Cara Middleton; son, Walter R. Hazel; and grandchildren, Suzanne and Kathyriya.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc. was held at St. Charles Cemetery.
Laura Belle Johnson
Laura Belle Johnson, born in Columbus, Georgia, was a long time resident of the Rockaway community who passed way on October 7, 2002.
Laura was employed as an Attorney's Clerk, and was a member of the St. James AME Church.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Corrine Harris.
She is survived by her children, Irene Thompson, Eunice Carter, and Matthew James; sister, Minnie Carter; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Amityville Cemetery.
Joseph J. Mancini, Jr.
Joseph J. Mancini, Jr., born in Flushing, New York, was a long time resident of Rockaway Beach who died on October 17, 2002.
Joseph was employed as a telephone technician for the Verizon Company for a number of years. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his father, Joseph J. Mancini, Jr.; mother, Theresa Mancini; son, Christopher Mancini; daughter, Jasmin Starr Mancini; brother, Gerald Mancini; and grandchildren, Kayla and Kyle.
Visitation will take place at the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.
All funeral arrangements will be handled under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc.
Peter J. McGee
Electrician (Local 3 - IBEW)
Peter J. McGee, born in New York City, a resident of Clearwater, Florida, died on October 15, 2002.
Peter worshipped at St. John The Evangelist Church and was employed as an electrician with Local 3 IBEW. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (nee Brennan) McGee; son, Peter McGee, Jr.; daughters, Ellen Quinn, Margaret Cavuoto, Bridget Comerford, Maryanne Flocco, and Jeanne Marie Comerford; sisters, Mary Aretakis, Anne Harrington and Veronica Long; brother, Robert McGee; and 14 grandchildren.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor, Inc. was held at St. John's Cemetery in Pawling, New York.
Robert Sydney Murdaugh
Robert Sydney Murdaugh, born in Williamston, New Jersey, died on October 4, 2002.
Robert was employed as a maintenance worker for many years, and served in the United States Armed Forces.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria.
He is survived by his sons, Robert, Edwin and Lesly; five grandchildren, Earl, Sydney, Allen, Mark and Michael; great-grandchild, Earl Jr.; brother, John; and a host of other relatives.
