Lawless To Address 100 Precinct Council

Chief Thomas P. Lawless, commanding officer of Patrol Borough Queens South, will address the next meeting of the 100th Precinct Community Council on Wednesday, October 23, 7:30 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus, 333 Beach 90th Street.
   Chief Lawless joined the New York City Police Department on July 9, 1965, and began his career on patrol in the Tactical Patrol Force.  He was promoted to Detective in August 1969; Sergeant in August 1971; Lieutenant in October 1981; Captain in May 1985; Deputy Inspector in November 1988; Inspector in June 1991; Deputy Chief in October 1998; and Assistant Chief in May 2000.   He has served in the 104, 110, 112, and 113 Precincts, as well as the Tactical Patrol Force, Narcotics Division, 107 Precinct Detective Squad, Office of the Chief of Patrol, Office of the Chief of Detectives, the Police Academy, Office of Management Analysis & Planning, NSU 16, Transit Borough Queens, Transit Borough Brooklyn, the Traffic Control Division, SATCOM Brooklyn North, and currently the Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Queens South. 
  Chief Lawless attended St. John’s University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Science and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College.  He is also a 1990 graduate of the Police Management Institute at Columbia University, and a 1974 graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy.

The public is invited to meet Chief Lawless for what is expected to be a positive dialogue between the community and the NYPD. Refreshments will be served.
