Knights Honor Beloved
Leader With Memorial Stone
The Knights of Columbus, Rockaway Council #2672 held its Second Annual Richie Knott, Sr. Golf Outing on September 20 for the benefit of Cathedral Prep Seminary High School. The event was very well attended.
Upon the golfers return to the Council, golfers, friends and families joined Rev. James Devine and Rev. Patrick West for a dedication and blessing of a memorial stone in the council's grotto, to the memory of a wonderful man, Richard W. Knott, Sr., 1936-2001.
The words inscribed on the stone are as follows: "No man cared more and was more dedicated to this council than Richie. This was home away from home. He gave up so much of his time and effort to maintain a strong, friendly and fraternal atmosphere throughout the council and among its members and families. His contributions place him in rare company with the legends of other brothers. God has you in his care. We have you in our hearts. Your Brother Knights."
